WORK MEASUREMENT

The science behind your performance

Work measurement

Ergometry with an ergospirometer is the gold standard method for assessing cardiorespiratory fitness and metabolism during exercise. Using a modern ergospirometer, we record in real time how the heart, lungs and muscles work together, providing objective data that cannot be obtained from simple ergometric tests or calculations.
The assessment is performed on a treadmill with a progressive increase in intensity, while breathing and oxygen consumption are analyzed through a special mask. The results are used to design a completely personalized training, improve performance, safely return to sports and monitor the progress of each athlete or trainee.

What are we assessing?

• Maximum oxygen uptake (VO₂max)
• Aerobic and Anaerobic Threshold
• Training zones based on physiological data
• Maximum heart rate
• Cardiorespiratory performance
• Respiratory economy
• Carbohydrate and fat consumption during exercise
• Energy expenditure
• Performance and fatigue tolerance
• Progress through repeated measurements

Addressed to:

• Professional athletes
• Amateur athletes
• Runners
• Football players
• Cyclists
• Swimmers
• Triathletes
• People who want safe and effective exercise
• People who want to improve their physical condition
• Patients undergoing rehabilitation after injury

Why perform an ergometry?;

Ergometry is the first and most important step in proper training planning. Through the objective assessment of cardiorespiratory function and metabolism, it provides reliable data that allows for precise individualization of exercise, contributing to improving performance, avoiding overtraining, and safely achieving training goals.
At SportsMed Concept, ergometry with an ergospirometer is performed with modern equipment and is accompanied by an analytical evaluation of the results. Key indicators such as VO₂max, aerobic and anaerobic thresholds, personalized training zones, energy expenditure and fat and carbohydrate utilization during exercise are measured. All data is compiled into a comprehensive report, which forms the basis for designing a personalized and scientifically documented training or rehabilitation program.
